INGREDIENTS

Chicken- 1 kg
Onion- 2 medium, sliced
Ginger- a medium peace, finely chopped
Garlic- 6 pods, finely chopped
Green chilly- 2-3
Pepper powder- ¾ tablespoon
Coriander powder—1 3/4 tablespoon
Fennel powder- ¾ tablespoon
Coriander leaves,chopped- approximately a tea cup
Oil- as required
Salt- to taste

DESCRIPTION

I always try out different tastes when cooking chicken, thus prepared another recipe.Trust me,it is my favourite chicken dish now.This  aromatic dish  tastes like green chicken and malliyila chicken. I called it as Uppumaanga special chicken curry .I know that most of you tried this recipe from my fb page and you all really liked it.If you are a chicken lover, do try this recipe.

HOW TO PREPARE

Cut chicken into small pieces and set aside

Heat oil in a pan.Add chopped ginger and garlic to this.

Saute well till the raw smell goes.

Add in sliced onion to this and saute well till the onion turns translucent

Add chopped coriander leaves to this,saute for one minute.

Drain this into a bowl and let it cool.Grind this into a smooth paste and keep aside.

In a vessel, add chicken pieces, required salt and water.Bring to boil, add ground onion paste to this and combine well.

Close the lid and let it boil in a medium flame.

Meanwhile, heat a pan, add coriander powder, pepper powder and fennel powder for few minutes in a low flame.When it is heat, switch off the flame.

Add this powders into the curry.Combine well and cook for approximately 20 to 25 minutes.

When the chicken is cooked well, switch off the flame.

Heat oil in a pan,add mustard seeds.

When it splutters,add curry leaves and saute for few seconds.

Season it over the curry.

Tasty chicken curry is ready.

Serve with chappathi, bread etc.

Tips

The number of green chilly and the amount of pepper powder should be altered according to your tolerance.

Skip turmeric powder in this recipe.

Garam masala also suitable though I prefer using perumjeerakam to get a finger licking taste and flavor.

This chicken curry is a super touching as well.
