Mushroom- 400 gram, sliced
Onion- 1 medium, sliced
Ginger- a small piece- finely chopped
Garlic- 3 cloves- finely chopped
Potato- 1, small,cubed(optional)
Tomato- 1,small,sliced
Green chillies-2 Nos, slit lengthwise
Kashmeeri chilly powder- 2 teaspoon (refer tips)
Coriander powder- 2 teaspoon
Turmeric powder- ¼ teaspoon
Garam masala powder- 1 teaspoon
Salt- as required
Coconut oil- as required
Curry leaves- 2 sprigs
Mustard seeds- ½ teaspoon


Mushrooms are edible and help us to prevent the multiplication of cancer cells and improve the immune system.Here,I post a simple and tasty mushroom curry which is an excellent combination with chappathi.Besides I have posted Mushroom Ularthiyathu  in the website.


Wash the mushrooms properly.Chop them and set aside.

Heat oil in a pan on a medium flame.

Add mustard seeds and let it crackles.

Add curry leaves,chopped ginger,garlic,green chilly to this .

Sauté for few seconds.Add onion to this and sauté well until the onion turns to soft and transparent.

Add sliced tomato to this and saute until it turns mushy and soft.

Add chopped potato to this and stir it Bring down the flame to low mode.

Add chilly powder,turmeric powder,coriander powder and garam masala to this.

Saute well until the raw smell goes.

Add required water ,salt now and mix well.

Add chopped mushrooms and stir well.

Close it with a cover and let it cook for few minutes or until it is done.

Mushroom curry is ready.

Serve hot with anything what you have ;be it chapathi,roti,nan etc.


Adjust the spiciness as per your preferences.You can add up to 1 tablespoon of kashmeeri chilly powder .

You could use any types of mushrooms.
