INGREDIENTS

Grated coconut-1.5 handful
Shallots- 4
Valan Puli/Tamarind-a gooseberry sized ball
Salt- to taste
Curry leaves- 4 leaf(not sprig)
kashmeeri Chilly powder-3/4 teaspoon

DESCRIPTION

Thenga Chammanthi is a very good combination with hot Rice,Kanji,Dosa etc.It is a simple dish anyone could try even though you can make it more  tasty if you follow a perfect method.  

HOW TO PREPARE

Grind all the ingredients in a mixer jar to a coarse paste.Don’t grind to a smooth paste.

Transfer this to a bowl .

Shape using your palms to a round shape .Now i Chammanthi is ready.

Serve with Kanji,Rice etc.

 

TIPS

You can add chilly powder or dry red chillies.

Do not add more water .

Alter the spice according to your tolerance level.

Grinding fresh coconut tastes heavenly.
